In this edition, instead of agents we\u2019re going to be looking at poorly-executed calls by real estate<strong> admins<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an admin, you are the property seeker\u2019s first point of contact, representing both the agent and the agency. Therefore, it is important to create a good first impression right from that phone call. We will be looking at three scenarios &#8211; an inbound call, an outbound call, and a call being put on hold &#8211; and discuss how we would improve each call.\u00a0 Keep listening!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Call One <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/www.bayut.com\/agentportal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/CALL-1.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an inbound call, i.e., the property seeker has called an agency to enquire about a listing they saw on Bayut. Let\u2019s look at what hasn\u2019t worked in this phone call:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The admin answered the call without introducing themselves &#8211; just a hello sounds unprofessional, and the receiver is confused.<\/li><li>The admin used \u2018ma\u2019am\u2019 after each sentence.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s how we would improve this call<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Start the call by introducing yourself &#8211; your name, your agency\u2019s name, and how you can help. For example, \u201cHello, I am Max from ABC Properties; how can I help you today?\u201d.<\/li><li>Avoid using ma\u2019am or sir. Instead, ask the client\u2019s name and call them by their name.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/www.bayut.com\/agentportal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/CALL-2.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2>Call Two <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/www.bayut.com\/agentportal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/CALL-5.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an outbound call, where the admin has called the client. Here\u2019s what went wrong:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The admin does not introduce herself and starts the conversation with a curt \u2018hello\u2019. She also continues in monosyllables and does not share why he\u2019d called until asked.<\/li><li>The admin uses \u2018ma\u2019am\u2019 multiple times.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s how we would improve this call<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Start with a professional introduction. Introduce yourself, greet the client and share the purpose of the call.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/www.bayut.com\/agentportal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/CALL-6.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2>Call Three<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/www.bayut.com\/agentportal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/CALL-11.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In this scenario, the property seeker shares immediately that they want to speak to an agent. Instead of addressing the client, the admin abruptly says, \u2018Okay, hang on\u2019 and puts the client on hold.
