Called \u2018Threads\u2019, this platform is very similar to Twitter and has already seen 10 million signups the week it was launched.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to build your brand using social media and connect with prospective clients online, joining Threads should be on your to-do list. To help you get started, we share a few basics you need to know about this exciting new social media platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Signing Up and Starting Off<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Threads app is available on Google Play Store (Android) and App Store (iPhone). Once you have downloaded the app, log into your Instagram account to get started.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Threads is linked to Instagram, meaning you must create an<strong> Instagram account <\/strong>to be on Threads.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you sign in, Threads lets you connect with your following\/followers on Instagram who have Thread accounts. We recommend following the accounts you used to interact with on Instagram (and yes, follow Bayut on Threads &#8211; we have great content for agents!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Content For Threads<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Threads allows you to create posts with a combination of text and images\/videos. It has a 500-character limit, so you\u2019ll have to keep your captions short and sweet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep in mind that you can only add up to four images per post.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, before you begin creating content for Threads, you should have a social media strategy in place &#8211; something we discuss in our social media for real estate workshop at Bayut Academy. Defining your personal brand and determining your target audience should be done for every platform, and Threads is no exception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are a few more pointers to keep in mind before starting your Threads journey:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Create a content calendar for a month, where you plan out the content type and their publishing dates. Then, start creating your content accordingly. You can schedule it on tools like HootSuite or SproutSocial, which posts your content on the date you select.<\/li><li>Use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bayut.com\/agentportal\/all-about-hashtags-for-real-estate-agent\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hashtags<\/a>, but not too many. Since there\u2019s a character limit, we recommend using just one or two hashtags per post.\u00a0<\/li><li>Interact with other people\u2019s content on Threads. Interaction on Threads also includes \u2018reposts\u2019, a feature similar to Twitter\u2019s retweet feature &#8211; where another person\u2019s post is shared with your followers. To repost something on Threads, tap the circular arrow below the post and select &#8216;Repost.\u2019<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/Ls3PpCnOWJI5gIwCjDz0OmVV-1uFZCOLH-zGKpKfG7VV1BveHuK0z4W0nBF7ewZKxjtAA7zfECIcJ8CmHJ7AORl_9vJpHnrpWWX6d-z5GLMWlOhrCH6PvU1cjjO5hTN_aFsd2obx8LzmwA26t1p2cU8\" alt=\"\" width=\"440\" height=\"392\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, what content can you create for Threads? Here are a few content ideas for your Threads page:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Posts about new (and exciting)\u00a0 listings in your inventory<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Have you got a beautiful property in your inventory &#8211; something that you think might turn heads? Create a post about it on Threads. Add four pictures that capture the best of the property, like the pool, a sea view from the balcony, or a panoramic photo of the building, along with a one or two-line caption about the listing. Alternatively, you could post a video walkthrough of the property.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be mindful of the character limit when writing the caption for this post.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example: \u201cThis 3-bed villa for sale in Al Barari is what dreams are made of. You can do this by sharing informative content about the Dubai real estate market or your area of specialisation. Examples of informative content include details of ROIs about each community, neighbourhood guides, or price trends in your area of specialisation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s say you\u2019re an off-plan specialist. You can either create a video explaining these four tips or four images with the tips (you can make these graphics on Canva). Although humour is effective in becoming viral online, it can be challenging to come up with \u2018funny\u2019 content ideas &#8211; since humour is subjective and isn\u2019t something everyone can do.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of taking the meme route, you can try posting pictures of the interiors of houses in your inventory. While posting visually appealing home interiors, try using hashtags like #InspoHome. You\u2019re guaranteed to get a lot of saves and reposts. #HomeGoals, anyone?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Threads is a new platform, it will take time to spot and follow trends. It also does not have a DM feature yet, and there are many more features to be added to the platform (according to Meta). Until then, we recommend consistently creating content and being active on Threads.
