Unlike office workers, real estate agents tend to operate more like independent contractors and are ultimately responsible for their success or lack thereof, meaning that how you manage your time is actually of the utmost importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing we stress at Bayut Academy is only doing things that contribute to your success as a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bayut.com\/companies\/uae\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">real estate agent<\/a>. And it\u2019s worth looking at a strategy that Gary Keller introduced when discussing time management: Leads, Listings and Leverage. In a nutshell, agents should focus on generating leads and listings and leverage the low-value activities to non-agent support. However, successful agents schedule their emails and calls and keep on top of their clients. Being late on a call or slow to respond to an email can cost an agent business so make sure you schedule your calls and emails and follow up accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>STOP MULTITASKING<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_32168\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mybayutcdn.bayut.com\/mybayut\/wp-content\/uploads\/shutterstock_309403253.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/mybayutcdn.bayut.com\/mybayut\/wp-content\/uploads\/shutterstock_309403253.jpg\" alt=\"A woman multiasking in her car\" class=\"wp-image-32168\"\/><\/a><figcaption><em>Multitasking is not always a good idea\u2026it can sometimes be dangerous as well!<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Multitasking is a myth and no one is good at it.&nbsp; Successful agents focus on one thing at a time and give their full attention to each task they do. While it is tempting to take a call while driving, text a client during a company meeting or make calls while updating listings, doing so actually distracts you from successfully accomplishing tasks. Slow down and focus on one thing at a time and focus on generating leads and listings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"vlaue-time\">KNOW THE VALUE OF TIME<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_32172\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mybayutcdn.bayut.com\/mybayut\/wp-content\/uploads\/shutterstock_737497207.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/mybayutcdn.bayut.com\/mybayut\/wp-content\/uploads\/shutterstock_737497207.jpg\" alt=\"Reading property reports\" class=\"wp-image-32172\"\/><\/a><figcaption><em>One of the most important time management tips, use quiet periods to catch up on market reports and boost your set of real estate skills!<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>So we said no multi-tasking above. However, take advantage of those snippets of time you have. Waiting for a client who is running late? No problem, thanks to your handy to-do list you can use so-called \u201cunproductive\u201d time to your advantage. Return emails, calls, finish up paperwork, study the latest&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bayut.com\/mybayut\/uae-real-estate-market-report-2017-declining-property-prices-dubai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dubai property market reports<\/a>, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"se-t-goals\">SET GOALS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_32167\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mybayutcdn.bayut.com\/mybayut\/wp-content\/uploads\/shutterstock_228157618.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/mybayutcdn.bayut.com\/mybayut\/wp-content\/uploads\/shutterstock_228157618.jpg\" alt=\"Set goals to help you become a successful property agent\" class=\"wp-image-32167\"\/><\/a><figcaption><em>There is nothing more fulfilling than having a clear goal\u2026and then achieving it!<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s really hard to achieve what you want if you don\u2019t know really know what you want. There is a huge difference between \u201cI want to make a lot of money this year\u201d and \u201cMy goal is to make to make AED 700,000 by selling 24 properties in the next 12 months.\u201d Regularly check where you are against your goal and make adjustments as need be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"sche-dule\">SCHEDULE TIME OFF<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_32173\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mybayutcdn.bayut.com\/mybayut\/wp-content\/uploads\/shutterstock_1027818922.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/mybayutcdn.bayut.com\/mybayut\/wp-content\/uploads\/shutterstock_1027818922.jpg\" alt=\"Schedule time off from work\" class=\"wp-image-32173\"\/><\/a><figcaption><em>The time you spend away from work is as important as the time you spend at it.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To-do lists and a schedule are imperative. And so is scheduling time off. You are human and are allowed family time and off time. Schedule this time and find a buddy at work who will take your calls when you are off and vice-versa. Use your time effectively to branch out and get yourself in front of people who are looking to sell, buy or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bayut.com\/to-rent\/property\/dubai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rent a property in Dubai<\/a>.
