The engineering programs were expanded further in 1997 with the introduction of the Bachelor of Electronic Engineering and the Bachelor of Computer Engineering programs. A Master by Research in Engineering was started in 2002 and recently approval has been received by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education to provide a PhD degree program in engineering. KUSTAR – Sharjah Campus has established an excellent reputation for the provision of high quality programs and graduates. This reputation is exemplified by the accreditation of its programs both nationally and internationally.
The programs offered by KUSTAR – Sharjah Campus, are designed to be flexible, competitive and intellectually stimulating. KUSTAR provide students with excellent academic and welfare services including a comprehensive library collection, computing facilities, laboratories and workshops in addition to English language learning laboratories, accommodation as well as sports and recreational facilities. The mission is to provide a centre of excellence for learning and research primarily in Telecommunication and related disciplines, producing national graduates that meet the requirement of employers, and contribute to the overall development and economic growth of the UAE.
Facilities
At Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research, Sharjah Campus much emphasis has been placed on student welfare by providing students with a number of facilities and services. The Student Affairs Office is dedicated to providing quality services and support for students. The office advocates students’ needs, facilitates student involvement, and encourages students to accept responsibilities of membership in a campus community. The Student Affairs Office has five full-time professional staff, providing services and advice on admission, tuition and fees, accommodation, catering, social, sporting and cultural activities.
