The Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies (EIBFS) Provides professional knowledge and information services to Banking & Financial Sectors. The Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS) was established in 1983. It has been directing its efforts towards upgrading the knowledge and skills of banking professionals, as well as in creating a pool of UAE nationals capable of pursuing careers in the banking and financial sector.

To Provide high quality training & Professional programs, Provide Training Programs & award specialized academic diploma & to dissemination of knowledge in the banking field & contribution to the development of the financial sector in the State & the development of the national human resources.

Our Objectives
Raising the standard of performance of the Workforce employed in the banking sector. Qualifying the UAE Nationals for Successful careers in the banking & Financial sector.Attracting UAE Nationals who are not employed in Banks, training them to apply the concepts and methods of banking, thereby augmenting the existing pool of skilled national human resource.
Facilities
Library Online Catalogue, Internet Resources, Services and Membership, Books & Periodicals: The EIBFS Library collection covers the following areas: Accounting, Banking, Finance, Economics, Management, Computer, and References. The EIBFS Library has a specialized Reference Section, which contains dictionaries, manuals and encyclopedia. Moreover, the EIBFS Library has a subscription to the most core periodical titles (hard copies) in English and Arabic Languages. Electronic Resources: The EIBFS Library offers several electronic databases to its users. These databases provide up-to-date information. Library clients heavily use these resources. These resources include: Online Catalogue; Infotrac Database for Electronic Journals; Reuters Real Time Database; Islamic Finance Information Services (IFIS); and Zawya Database.

Audiovisual Collection: The EIBFS Library has got a collection more than 350 Video Cassettes, and a considerable number of audio cassettes. The audiovisual collection contains training materials on: Accounting, Banking, English Language, Finance, Management, and Marketing. Banks Annual Reports: Banks Annual Reports constitute one of the major sources of information in the field of the banking and financial studies. All banks working in the UAE deposit complementary copies of their annual reports at the EIBFS Library for Reference.

Government Publications: The EIBFS Library collects major Government Publications from the UAE institutions as well as other GCC countries and makes them available for the library users. They include publications from the Central Banks and related ministries and institutions. CD-ROM Collection: The EIBFS Library has a considerable CD Rom collection. This collection contains many Electronic Directories, Manuals, Bank Annual Reports, Software programs and the collection of the "Business Link" Database, which contains articles and statistical data from many international journals and magazines. This collection is available for use inside the library.
Curriculum / Programs
The Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies is a national training and educational entity founded in 1983 to cater to the human resources development needs of the UAE Banking sector. In 1990, the Banking Diploma Program was introduced and delivered exclusively by EIBFS. In 1998, an agreement was signed with Chartered Institute of Bankers, London, U.K. (now known as Institute of Financial Services) to raise the standard of the program and to ensure its academic integrity. Since its inception in1990, 442 students have graduated from the program. Most are working in the banking sector and several are holding senior positions.

In 1996, the EIBFS took a step forward by signing an agreement with The Institute of Canadian Bankers, Montreal, Canada. This agreement formed the basis of cooperation for offering The Higher Banking Diploma Program. Since its inception in 1997, 60 students have graduated from the program. Islamic Diploma, Banking Diploma, Higher Banking Diploma, Insurance Diploma.
