George Mason University at Ras Al Khaimah - (Private)
The George Mason University Ras Al Khaimah campus is currently located in the former Higher Colleges of Technology for Men (behind the RAK Club) in the Al Zahara area of RAK. Once construction for the initial building is completed, the campus will shift to its permanent location — a picturesque site on the Emirates Highway at the Umm Al Quwain RAK border.
The mission of the University Life Department is to support the mission and priorities of George Mason University Ras Al Khaimah Campus by providing services, programs, and facilities that are responsive to the personal social, culture, and recreational needs of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to campus. The department will be proactive with regard to the emerging trends and developing issues both on campus and in the larger society. To that end, we will do the following. Create programs that support students for a successful transition to college life. Commit to the education and development of students into responsible, well-rounded and self-reliant individuals. Engage our students in leadership development and involve our students in campus life. Advise, counsel and advocate the achievement of academic and professional success. Seek out opportunities for our students to develop confidence and competence as citizens and leaders in a diverse community, both locally and globally.
The George Mason University Ras Al Khaimah campus aims to provide state of the art facilities to its students and faculty, which will include well-equipped labs and a library. Future plans include a recreation and fitness center, sports facilities, a cafeteria, a student lounge, and a full complement of student and academic services.
