Gulf Research Center - (Private)

The Gulf Research Center (GRC) is an independent research institute located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The GRC was founded in July 2000 by Mr. Abdulaziz Sager, a Saudi businessman, who realized that in a world of rapid political, social and economic change, it is important to pursue politically neutral and academically sound research about the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and disseminate the knowledge obtained as widely as possible. The GRC seeks to provide a better understanding of the challenges and prospects of the GCC countries.

Their mission is knowledge for all. GRC was established to achieve the following main objectives as conducting objective and scholarly research bearing on political, economic, social and security issues, as they relate to the GCC states in particular and the Gulf region in general. Promoting communication and cooperation among GCC citizens, along with propagating information about the GCC states and the Gulf region through a series of conferences and workshops the GRC holds and hosts. Publishing and disseminating relevant and useful information and data on the GCC states within and outside the region.

Interacting with and answering the needs and requirements of individuals and/or corporate organizations, including GCC nationals and expatriates living in the GCC countries, university students, academics, the press community, businessmen, and decision-makers. To achieve its main objectives, GRC adopts and applies a number of approaches and policies as rigorous compliance with international stylistic, publishing and refereeing standards. GRC employs some distinguished and outstanding scholars and researchers who execute the Center's programs and activities, in addition to a number of certified experts and members of its academic consultative board.

To enlist a number of young and promising researchers and experts to participate in the Center's activities and programs, offering them an opportunity to communicate and interact with more experienced researchers. To inject whatever income back into new research programs and activities. As such, GRC is able to preserve and maintain its independence and continuity. The GRC is committed to making knowledge available for all. The Center aims to enrich and foster academic and intellectual understanding of the political, economic, security, social, educational and environmental issues relevant to the Gulf region through objective research.

In order to facilitate reforms in the region and secure a better future for its citizens, the Center also promotes communication, collaboration and dialogue using its media, education provider, and information dissemination and consultancy services. The Center is also devoted to facilitating dialogue among scholars specialized in Gulf affairs, both within and outside the region.
