Hummingbird has a registered nurse on staff permanently. She is responsible for maintaining each child’s medical records as well as for the health and safety aspects of the children and the centre in general. A doctor also visits the centre regularly for general health and safety checks. The Ministry requires the centre to maintain immunisation records for the children, and parents are requested to inform the nurse when their child’s immunisations are updated. Parents should inform staff of any change in telephone numbers so that we are able to contact them in the event of illness or accident. If parents plan to be out of the country at any time, they are requested to advise the centre of the child's temporary guardian and contact numbers in case of emergency.

Hummingbird is an international early learning centre following the framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. Their curriculum ensures that each child's abilities are nurtured and works to prepare them for entry into primary school as the next phase of their education. Hummingbird follows UK Practice Guidelines for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The EYFS principles are based on the belief that each child is unique. It works to foster positive relationships, to provide enabling environments and to encourage learning and development at this crucial stage of a child’s education.

As each child is unique, they tailor their learning programs to suit each particular child’s requirements, and to encourage each child's individual pattern of growth and development. They work to nurture the six key areas of a child's development, Personal, social and emotional development.

Communication, language and literacy, Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy, Knowledge and understanding of the world, Physical development, Creative development. They aim all their activities towards the child's enjoyment, while also ensuring an educational and positive learning experience. They adopt an integrated and activity-based approach to early education, working in the belief that learning is primarily accomplished through themes and learning centres, carefully planned by their team to reflect the children's interests and suggestions.
