St Marys Catholic High School - (Private)

St. Mary's was founded in 1968 by Father Eusebius Daveri. Ever since, St. Mary's has grown from its humble beginnings with 30 students and 2 teachers to the present strength of more than 2300 students and about 110 teachers. In 1970, the school was recognized as a Centre for the London Board GCE 'O' Levels. In 1978, the first batch of students appeared for the London GCE 'A' Level Examinations. In recognition of St. Mary's high academic standards, Dubai Municipality honored St. Mary's in 1988 with the 'Best School' award.

Keeping in line with the developments in the British Examination system, GCSE courses were introduced in 1990. From June 2005, a new qualification IGCSE has been introduced by EDEXCEL. This provides students with an international perspective to their studies and embraces the best practice of O level and GCSE. Accordingly, the school will be introducing the IGCSE syllabus along with the GCSE syllabus.
