Babies [4 months-2 years]: They provide a secure yet stimulating environment where their qualified team will focus on stimulating the five senses; sight, touch, smell, sound and taste in accordance with the stages of a child’s natural development. They will carefully monitor the key development milestones and encourage curiosity and confidence within age appropriate activities.
Toddlers [2-3 years]: The Pre Foundation Stage Profile allows toddlers to use creativity, exploration, and imagination, to discover and develop. This is achieved through a structured and varied programme of play activities. This play inspired approach to learning helps children broaden their communication, social, cognitive and self help skills
Pre-School [3-5 years]: The British Early Years Foundation Stage Profile is a broad based curriculum with six primary focus areas:
-Social and Emotional Development: helping your child to develop the skills and knowledge to understand the world in which they live; using encounters, creatures, people, plants and objects in ‘real-life’ situations and undertaking practical experiments.-Communication, Language and Literacy: helping your child to develop confidence and competence in speaking and listening; being read to and beginning to read and write.
-Problem solving, Reasoning and Numeracy: helping your child to develop an understanding of problem solving and reasoning principals through exploring, practicing, enjoying and talking.
-Knowledge and Understanding of the world: helping your child to develop the skills and knowledge which helps them to understand the world in which they live; using encounters, creatures, people, plants and objects in ‘real-life’ situations, undertaking practical experiments.
-Physical Development: helping your child become active and interactive; improving their skills of control, manipulation and movement; using all their senses to learn about the world around them; the importance of physical activity and healthy eating choices.
-Creative: helping your child to explore and share their thoughts, ideas and feelings, in a variety of art, music, movement, design and technology disciplines, through imaginative and role play based activities
After School Activities: Their after school activities are designed to provide the children with a balanced and harmonious day. Immediately after the end of the school day (2pm) children will be encouraged to rest and relax, and if they wish, take an afternoon nap in their personal sleeping pod. Once they are refreshed there will be time to enjoy a structured yet entertaining play time. Afternoon tea will be served at 4pm and as the children wind down for the evening they will enjoy times for stories and reflection.
Reporting and Assessing: The educational programme is devised against a set of early learning goals. Understanding that each child is an individual; upon entrance to the nursery each child will be developmentally assessed, in order to structure their activities appropriately. Throughout their stay with us, the child will be continually monitored and their achievements recognised against a set of early learning goals. There will be regular formal parent/teacher conferences and bi–annual written reports. Parents are encouraged to seek advice and discuss any concerns they may have with regard to their child’s development, with their class teacher.
