At the post-secondary level, ACD has as its objective to provide university level credits to students and to assist them in transferring these credits to degree granting institutions in the USA, UAE, Canada, Europe, India and elsewhere. The College also offers Associate Degrees in the Liberal Arts, Business and Information Technology that are designed to assist students who desire an earlier start to their working careers.
Mission
The American College of Dubai seeks to provide its students with the intellectual and social foundations necessary to prepare them to lead fulfilling lives as competent, committed, and compassionate members of a global society. Central to this mission is the providing of university credits and necessary pre-university remedial work for students transferring to universities in the United States, Canada or Europe as well as Associate Degrees for students who wish to begin their working careers with this particular qualification. The College also seeks to assist in the socialization and maturation of young adults by providing an environment that stresses the importance of ethical behavior and community involvement, both of which are key features of the American system of higher education.
Goals
Present a quality education that enables students to transfer in an efficient manner to four year institutions for degree completion.
Ensure that all students can communicate clearly and accurately in English and can use information technology as well as library resources in an effective manner.
Effectively cover the broad based general education objectives normally associated with U.S. higher education with an emphasis on widening the perspective of the educated individual.
Provide relevant programs for transfer to other institutions of higher education that enable students to ultimately achieve career success in the global economy.
Help students to develop realistic and obtainable career goals and to assist Associate Degree graduates with access to challenging employment prospects in the local economy.
