In the United States, there are state curriculum standards as well as national curriculum standards. AAG's curriculum incorporates the well-respected Kent County Collaborative Core Curriculum, a challenging, academic curriculum that aligns itself with United States national standards as well as with the Michigan Curriculum Framework and Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE).

The curriculum sets high standards for all students because curriculum, instruction, and assessment are aligned to ensure mastery of the standards resulting in academic success for all learners.

In recognition of both the international nature of our student body and our increasingly cosmopolitan world, we have broadened and enriched this high quality core curriculum by incorporating a more international focus.

The Kent County Collaborative Core Curriculum:
Engages students in constructing and applying knowledge to real life situations.
Incorporates effective instructional practices and current research on teaching and learning.
Teaches all standards at age appropriate levels.
Focuses on performance based assessments based on specific subject guidelines.
Selects instructional resources to support the classroom instruction.
