Dubai College - (Private)

The purpose of this prospectus is to give an overview of Dubai College and of its values, opportunities and facilities, so that you may make an informed choice about your son or daughter’s next school.

Since its foundation in 1978, when it was an isolated landmark surrounded by sand, Dubai College has developed into one of the premier schools in the region, offering its pupils an education of the highest quality. Under the direction of its Board of Governors, clear policies have been formulated which ensure that our pupils receive a full and balanced education that will prepare them for higher education and the world beyond.

In a rapidly changing world, where it is virtually impossible to predict what abilities and skills will be required of the next generation, our aim is to ensure that our students are confident and capable learners, with a strong sense of self worth who will be able to adjust to meet whatever demands are placed upon them.

It is one of our firmly-held beliefs that education is a wide-ranging process, not confined to academic goals, and that above all it should be an enjoyable experience for the students.
Facilities
Situated in secluded grounds in the Umm Suqeim area of Dubai, the school’s buildings and playing fields are extensive, covering some twenty acres in total. In addition to the light, airy and well-equipped classrooms, specialist facilities include a science block with thirteen laboratories, three design and technology suites, five computer rooms, four art studios, a canteen and a music centre which provides teaching and recital areas, a dozen practice rooms and a recording studio.

The school library is a focal point for independent learning and research, and in addition to fiction and non-fiction texts, offers audio and video resources along with internet access.

The extensive provision made for physical education reflects our belief in the contribution it makes to a well-rounded education. There are grassed playing fields which incorporate a variety of pitches, cricket nets, four all-weather tennis courts, a competition-size swimming pool and a multi-purpose hall.

The school grounds are attractively landscaped with trees, bushes and flower beds, all of which provide a pleasant environment for the pupils during their breaks and lunch hours.
