The school, at Kindergarten, Primary and Middle stages, follows an internationally accepted syllabus to suit children of different nationalities, who plan to rejoin educational systems in the countries of their origin. At the Secondary stage, it is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi which conducts the All India Secondary School Examination (Grade 10) and University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), United Kingdom which conducts the International General Certificate of Secondary education (Grade 11). At the end of the Senior Secondary stage (Grade 12), the pupils sit for either the All India Senior School Certificate Examination or General Certificate of Education Advanced Subsidiary/Advanced Level.
The medium of instruction is English. Special care is given to the teaching of English at different levels, particularly to pupils who hail from non-English speaking backgrounds. Other languages taught are Arabic, Urdu, French, Hindi, Malayalam and Bengali. The teaching of Islamiyat and the Holy Quran to Muslim pupils and Moral Instruction to pupils following other faiths is a part of the school curriculum. (Arab pupils are taught in Arabic).

Learning at Our Own takes place in a friendly and supportive environment that encourages positive individual and collective achievement. The scheme of study develops in a manner both structured and flexible while the link between the Kindergarten, Primary, Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary is integral and phased.Common to all levels is the development of communication skills in English: non-native learners acquire confidence through specialist teaching, in a manner both enjoyable and efficient.
Pupils’ spiritual growth is taken care of through the teaching of Islamiat and the Holy Koran to Muslim pupils (in Arabic for all Arab nationals and English for others) and Moral Science to those who follow other faiths.
Kindergarten (2 Years)
During this introductory two-year stage, pupils are initiated into the world of learning in a congenial atmosphere free from the pressures of either comparison or competition : skill in communication and numeric is the primary focus together with a great deal of attention to colors and music, which allow for memorable experiences at individual learning rates.
Primary and Middle Levels, Grades I to VIII
During this comprehensive eight-year period, pupils’ intellectual, aesthetic, physical and cultural growth and development is gradually intensified and extended through a foundation course designed to suit children from an international and multicultural background. Language skills (particularly those for the English language) are honed through the Communicative Approach while the problem-solving approach teaches pupils to search for solutions, rather than learn by rote, in other subjects.
Arabic is compulsory for all pupils whereas the optional languages offered are Hindi, French, Urdu, Malayalam and Bengali.
A significant feature at this level is the curriculum in Social Studies that is designed to meet the varying needs of Indian, International and Arab Nationals (the last category takes this subject in Arabic as required by the Ministry of Education).
Secondary and Senior Secondary Levels
The School offers a choice of preparation for public examination at these 2 levels by the two international boards of study and certification to which it is affiliated i.e.
Central Board of Secondary Education, India.
University of Cambridge International Examinations, UK.
Grade X
Indian pupils take the All. India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) which includes a compulsory foundation curriculum in English an additional language chosen from French, Arabic, Hindi or Malayalam, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.
Grade XI
Multinational pupils take the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) choosing a combination of subjects with English as a Second Language any one additional language chosen from Arabic, Urdu, French and Bengali Environmental Studies Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Accountancy and Business Studies.
Grade XII
Indian pupils take the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) in the Science or Commerce streams whereas multinational pupils take the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) in the Science stream at the end of Grade XII. The subject combinations available for AISSCE are:
Science: English along with several combinations with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Engineering Drawing, Biology, Informatics Practices, Economics and Psychology.
Commerce
English along with several combinations with Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics, Informatics Practices, Mathematics and Psychology.
