American International School - (Private)

The American International School in Abu Dhabi was founded in 1995 to serve the needs of the local and expatriate residents of Abu Dhabi who want their children to pursuer both American and International Baccalaureate curricula in an international setting. The Director at AISA is Dr. Walther Hetzer.

AISA is managed by Educational Services Overseas Limited (ESOL), a leading regional school operator headed by Mr. Walid Abushakra. ESOL has an established, twenty-year track record operating some of the region's leading American and British curriculum schools. A large number of graduates from ESOL's schools have gone on to attend some of the world's leading universities, including Harvard, Stanford, MIT, and Oxford.
Facilities
Air-conditioned buildings include spacious library, music rooms, art rooms, computer labs and science labs, a gymnasium completes the facilities and there are plans for the future to include a swimming pool.
Curriculum / Programs
The American International School in Abu Dhabi serves the needs of an international student body by offering a complete American school diploma program and a parallel international program.

Students in Preschool to grade 8 take American stream courses taught with American and International textbooks and materials.

Students in grade 10 have a choice of continuing the American school diploma program or applying for International Baccalaureate Preparation (IBP).

Students in grades 11 and 12 may apply for the International Baccalaureate (IB) , or an American High School Diploma.
AISA students will therefore be prepared for admission into universities in the USA, Canada, Europe, U.A.E, and in other places. The language of instruction in all classes is English except in Arabic, French and Islamic Studies.
