Being a foreign national, you cannot invest in Sharjah property. This is because Sharjah has no freehold areas like Dubai and Abu Dhabi that feature freehold properties for the foreigners.
According to the latest news Government of Sharjah is preparing a law that will allow sale of freehold property to foreigners for the first time as long as they get approval from the Ruler of Sharjah. But the draft of the law is yet to be approved by the Executive Council.
I would recommend you to consider buying a flat in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, since they feature many quality freehold properties for the foreigners.
If you have anything else to ask, please feel free to ask anytime.! Wish you good luck in property hunting!
This is very interesting information you have given, Madiha. I just want to find out from you: Is the only properties that you can buy, as a foreigner, only in Dubai and Abu Dhabi? Are there any more areas a foreigner can invest in other than those two?
Other than Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as a foreigner you can buy property in the following areas of the UAE.
Fujairah (Only in Al Jabar Tower)
Ras Al Khaimah
Umm Al Quwain
However, I would like to add, that you cannot buy property anywhere in these states or cities. There are selected freehold areas in them where foreigners can invest. If you have anything else to ask, please feel free to ask anytime.
