You cannot make any changes in your duplex without taking permission from developer. Therefore, I would suggest you to contact developer to know further proceeding.
Are you making changes inside the building or outside. In either case you would need permission from Dubai municipality to make changes.
However if the changes are not permanent and the wood structure can b removed later as per need then go-ahead with the change if its from inside.
I believe you should discuss with the developer and I know for sure that you would need to consult the Dubai Municipality before bringing about any changes.
