I would like to buy an apartment in Dubai. I am Afghan national and have no residence in UAE. Can I buy property in Dubai or UAE?

Hi Ishaq,

Yes, international investors can buy properties in specific developments of Dubai. These properties are known as freehold properties where international investors can invest according to their budget. There are many freehold properties in Dubai.

You can leave your query in the "Wanted" section with all specifications and owners/agents matching your requirement will contact you back. You can also directly contact the real estate agents for a prompt response.

Hope it helps you.

Arub!

Hi Ishaq,

As mentioned by Arub, Afghan nationals can buy property in any freehold area of Dubai and there are no restrictions in place.

In fact the owners of Kabul bank who are Afghan nationals own quite a few villas in Palm Jumeirah.

So go ahead with a peace of mind.

Thank you so much both Arub and Zeeshan for your response. Now, if one has an apartment in dubai or Ajman, how about the visa? I have noticed that residence visa is subject to certain requirements like minimum AED 1 Million property value in addition to other requirments. So, how if the property is purchased for AED 300,000, then what does this mean for the buyer?

Thanks,

Ajmal

Ajmal,

Unfortunately the limit is still in place and its 1Million AED. If your property is less than this value, then unfortunately you will not be able to apply for the residency.

Also the property by itself should be greater than 1 Million AED. You are not allowed to cumulate two properties. A single property must be valued over 1 million AED.
