More About Al Ain
Overview of Al Ain
Al Ain is one of the most beautiful cities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Al Ain, which literally means The Spring, is also known as the Garden City because of its wide spread greenery. The greenery and the proximity of the city to the capital city of Abu Dhabi have helped it become a heaven for real estate investors. Just like all other major cities of the United Arab Emirates, the city boasts a remarkable network of roads, connecting nook and crannies to the capital city of Abu Dhabi which is situated a hundred and sixty kilometres west of Al Ain.
Among many of its distinctions, the city has the honour of being the birthplace of the very first president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Until the mid 2000s, the city enjoyed an open border with Buraimi, providing easy access to the city for locals as well as the expatriates. This encouraged many foreigners to come to the city and seek either temporary or permanent residence. Later on, however, the government choose to close down the border for expatriates who now have to take specified routes after completing their paperwork.
Still much flock to this city for many reasons. The greenery of the city has earned it the nickname of ‘The Garden City of the Gulf”. For that reason, it holds tremendous charm for locals as well as the expatriates. This interest stems from a desire to reside either permanently or temporarily in the city. This constant and steady demand for Al Ain real estate is because of the fact that the city does not suffer from over supply and the local government makes all possible efforts to maintain the greenery of the city.
