Gulf Nationals' Property Deals Top Dh15bMonday, October 26, 2009
 Gulf nationals sold a total of Dh15.7 billion worth of properties in the first eight months of the year, according to figures released by Dubai Land Department and the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Rera). There was a total of 4,966 sales.
Total land sales generated about Dh10.7 billion. The 3,279 apartment sales were valued at Dh2.9 billion and the 484 villas sold generated Dh2 billion between January and August. UAE nationals contributed the vast majority of sales at Dh13.4 billion. This was made up of 1,058 land sales at Dh9.3 billion, 2,601 apartment sales valued at Dh2.2 billion and 394 villa sales totalling Dh1.9 billion.
Property prices across the emirate of Dubai have fallen by up to 50 per cent in some areas. The country that made the lowest sales in terms of value was Qatar with just Dh85.6 million. Source: Gulf News
