Dss Off To Glittering StartFriday, June 20, 2008
Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) saw a colourful start last evening as lights, sounds, sea lions and dolphins greeted the scores of children gathered at the Dubai Dolphinarium in Creek Park. Over 500 invitees watched in awe as the three dimensional animation dolphin show unveiled the opening of the eleventh edition of DSS. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Foundation for Event Management and Organisation, was present at the high profile event, touted to be one of the region's biggest summer events, which will take place over the next 65 days - from June 19 to August 22. The next couple of months have a host of events planned to enthral and entertain children, residents and international travellers, especially family and children, in malls across the emirate. As promised, the stage of the Dubai Dolphinarium was set on fire with fireworks, fusion of light and sound effects along with the astonishing skills of the friendly dolphins and sea lions, who enthralled children with their delightful antics. Excited children screamed as dancers played with fire and even performed a dance sequence in the water, adding further colour to the event. Source: Khaleej Times
