Arabtec Wins Dh710m Contract For 80-Storey Tower In Dubai

Arabtec Construction, the UAE’s construction giant, has won a Dh710 million ($193.3 million) contract to build an 80-storey tower in Dubai. The new tower to be built on Shaikh Zayed Road, Dubai, will also include a five star hotel, furnished apartments, offices and luxurious apartments and the project’s duration is 38 months from the date of completion of the foundation works, Arabtec said in a statement here on Sunday. The project designed by Atkins comprises three basement levels and a ground floor, apart from the 80-floors. The project also consists of a service building of 10 floors and five basements which will be connected to the main tower at the ninth level by a bridge.

This building is also used for car parking and contains a health club. Tasameem Real Estate Company of Abu Dhabi has awarded the contract to Arabtec and the contract value is for the first stage of the project. Arabtec was at the centre of media attention in the recent period after Aabar Investments of Abu Dhabi decided to buy 70 per cent of its stake couple of weeks ago. The company has won major construction contracts earlier this month in Qatar and the West Bank. It has also won a number of contracts in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Qatar over the last few months.
